The tattoo has to be lightened before the new design, so you send the client to the clinic next door. They pay for every session there, and someone else decides when the cover-up can happen.
What we do about itYou lighten in-house and plan the whole process, from the first laser session to the tattoo session.
Clients ask which laser you work on and wait to hear the word „picosecond". Not every laser with that word in its name is one, and a real one costs from about 250,000 zł.
What we do about itWe say plainly what is what. Ultra and Edge are nanosecond Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers, and black and red are removed with exactly that kind of laser. Pico gives the highest efficiency in difficult cases. Its 450 ps pulse is stated in the manufacturer’s documentation, so when a client asks what you work on, you have it in black and white.
A tattoo artist is not a doctor, so every conversation about buying comes back to the same question: on what basis may they operate the laser.

Removal runs on different parameters from tattooing, and the first client will arrive asking how many sessions it will take.
What we do about itOn-site training is included with the laser. After it you have an online course and ongoing contact with the trainers.
Choosing a laser
Each of the three lasers has a different job in a studio. Ultra lightens tattoos for cover-ups, Edge removes them entirely as a regular service, and Pico gives the highest efficiency where a nanosecond laser is not enough.
A compact laser with a passive Q-switch and two laser rods. For lightening tattoos before a cover-up, when removal is one of the studio’s services rather than the main one.

This calculation is for illustration only. It is not an offer within the meaning of Article 66 of the Polish Civil Code, nor an assurance that the amounts shown will be achieved, and Modestic gives no guarantee of them. It shows revenue, not profit: from the amounts left after the instalment you still have to deduct, among other things, the annual inspection, materials, taxes and working time. We assumed 20 working days a month and a price of 450 zł per session. The studio sets the number of sessions and their price, and the instalment depends on the lease terms (term, down payment, buyout) and the financier’s decision.
