Albert Heiss scleral shields are surgical steel eye covers for laser treatments around the eye — removing permanent makeup from brows and eyeliner, and work on the eyelid. Inserted under the lids, they cover the whole surface of the eye against the beam where external eyewear will not fit within the treatment field.
Made in Tuttlingen — the German centre of surgical instrument manufacturing — by a family firm operating since 1921, with a quality system certified to EN ISO 13485:2016. An ophthalmic instrument, CE marked and reusable.

Description
Surgical steel, not plastic
Disposable plastic covers deform and give no certainty that the beam will not pass through. A surgical steel shield is opaque at every wavelength, does not develop hot spots, and goes back to work after sterilisation — like any surgical instrument.
