This article is your mini-guide on how a laser works for tattoo and PMU removal (from eyebrows, lips, eyeliners), its advantages, and what to pay special attention to for a safe and effective procedure.

Laser – Precise Permanent Makeup and Tattoo Removal
A laser for PMU and tattoo removal works by absorbing light through the pigment in the skin. The laser energy breaks down pigment particles into smaller fragments. This causes inflammation and activates the immune system.
In this process, a key role is played by macrophages – immune system cells that “engulf” the broken-down ink particles and transport them to the lymphatic system. From there, the pigment is gradually eliminated by the body, and the skin regenerates.
Advantages of laser PMU and tattoo removal:
- Precise action on pigment, which minimizes skin damage.
- Fast and effective removal of permanent makeup from eyebrows, lips, eyeliners, as well as tattoos.
- Ability to adjust laser parameters to pigment color – some colors, e.g., yellow or green, require more attention and more sessions.
- Supporting the skin’s natural biological processes – laser action activates local repair processes and stimulates the immune system to eliminate pigment.
Laser tattoo and permanent makeup removal also differs in the number of sessions required. Thicker skin on the arms, back, or thighs requires more treatments, as pigment embedded in denser tissue needs more time to break down and be transported by macrophages than in the delicate skin of the face, neck, or décolletage, where elimination is faster.

Before you undertake your first pigment removal procedures, you certainly have many initial questions.
We have prepared a list of the most frequently asked questions by clients for you, so you can feel confident and competently address their concerns, but also dispel doubts and debunk myths yourself that you may have encountered regarding laser PMU and tattoo removal.
1. Does a tattoo removal laser also remove hair?
No. A tattoo removal laser is designed to break down pigment and does not affect hair follicles.
2. Can a hair removal laser be used to remove a tattoo?
No. Hair removal lasers and tattoo removal lasers have different wavelengths. Using a hair removal laser on a tattoo is ineffective.
3. Does a laser work like an eraser?
No. A laser breaks down ink particles, which are then removed by the body. The tattoo does not disappear immediately, but gradually.
4. Can a tattoo disappear after one treatment?
No. Complete tattoo removal requires a series of treatments.
5. Can a tattoo removal laser be used to remove moles or wrinkles?
No. The laser is intended solely for tattoo removal.
6. Is laser tattoo removal very painful?
The procedure is noticeable, but can be compared to snaps from a rubber band. Pain is subjective and depends on individual sensitivity.
7. Can a laser make a hole in the skin?
No. A laser is safe and precise. Skin damage is rare, provided the procedure is performed by a qualified specialist.
8. Can a laser burn, for example, a sweater?
No. The laser beam is absorbed by specific colors – in this case, a sweater – and does not burn it. If the sweater is red or black, a visible mark in the form of a dot will remain.
9. Does a larger laser mean it's better?
No. The size of the laser does not affect its effectiveness. Technical parameters and device quality are important.
10. Will a laser for PLN 5,000 work the same as a laser for PLN 100,000?
No. More expensive devices often have better parameters, greater power, and precision, which translates into the effectiveness and safety of the procedure.
